![]() Our history begins with the motorcycling “bug” hitting Rudi Zacsko Sr., back in the late ‘40s when he was teenager living in Hungary. After arriving in Edmonton in 1957, his very first major purchase was a used Norton ES2 for $50.00. He has not been without a two-wheeler since. In 1958 he joined the Edmonton Motorcycle Club and started racing motocross – better known as “scrambles” at the time. The sport introduced him to the world of motorcycling, which became his lifelong passion and his business. On April 1st, 1968 he opened the doors to Scona Cycle & Sport Ltd. in a small location just off Whyte Avenue in Edmonton and began selling CZs, Bultacos, Moto-Guzzis, Hondas and Arctic Cat snowmobiles. Within a few years, all other makes were dropped and we have specialized in Honda product ever since. To date, the Zacsko family operates the oldest Honda dealership in Edmonton. Besides family, several of our staff members have been with the business for many years, creating a friendly, comfortable atmosphere for both new and repeat customers. Our wealth of knowledge and experience suits the seasoned motorcyclist and is invaluable to the new rider. We also believe in having female staff members working in each department, to accommodate our ever-growing female clientele. We take pride in the fact that we are one of the few remaining single-line dealerships in Alberta. This allows us to concentrate efforts on a brand we believe in, and having a more thorough knowledge of our product gives us the opportunity to be of better service to our customers. We have moved to larger locations several times, over the past 3 ½ decades. Currently, we are located at Whyte Avenue and 96th street. After 38 years in business, we can boast that we sell Honda minibikes to the odd grandparent, whose own mini had been bought for him from Scona many years prior. Let this be your invitation to drop by and see our collection of antiques, as well as what Honda currently has to offer in motorcycles, atvs and power equipment. Or come by to just “talk motorcycles” with people that really love to do the same.
Stop by today and see the complete line-up of Scona Cycle Hondas.
